Tunisia has developed
a big experience and a confirmed knowhow
and expertise in the field of environmental
industries and services (waste water treatment,
waste management, energy efficiency and
renewable energies, sustainable management
of natural resources…).In addition
to its privileged geographic position and
historical and cultural links between two
continents, Africa and Europe, Tunisia has
a well developed infrastructure (transportation
and telecommunication, new information technologies,...),
political and social stability, high quality
and competence of human resources, high
economic and financial performances and
an excellent business climate.
Tunisia is ranked 30 in terms of Global
Competitiveness Index for 2006-2007; the
first among African and Arab countries (Davos
World Economic Forum).
Tunisia assigns about 1.2 % of its GDP to
environmental protection expenditures; up
to 1700 Million Tunisian Dinars (1100 Million
euros) for the next five years. The private
business sector is invited to be involved
at the environmental investment programs.

OF FORUM « GREEN IFRIQIYA 2007 »
"GREEN
IFRIQUIA 2007" is new
international economic and environmental
Forum organized by the Tunisian ministry
of the environment and sustainable development
jointly with the German technical cooperation
agency gtz.
"GREEN
IFRIQUIA 2007" aims
to stimulate new economic opportunities
through green investments; developing technological
innovation and cooperation for environmental
protection; and explore new business opportunities
in the African continent based on environmental
protection and sustainable development.
"GREEN
IFRIQUIA 2007" is targeted
at promoting partnerships among European
fi rms and African countries/markets in
the fi eld of environmental technologies
and natural resources preservation.
"GREEN
IFRIQUIA 2007" consists
of a business Forum, where will take place
thematic workshops and seminars ; business-tobusiness
space; and an exhibition area, it concerns
environmental industries and services, consulting
fi rms and experts.
"GREEN
IFRIQUIA 2007" will
take place from 9 to 11 November 2007
at le Kram ParK des Expositions - Tunis
- Tunisia.
